A the top of the ride the chair goes slowly out along the wire, then they release the brake and it takes off at a decent speed. That's when I took this photo which shows Nicole quite relaxed, Sharyn enjoying the ride, and Phil a bit freaked out! The cable is 3200 meters long and weighs 11 tonnes. The joining splice is 34 meters long. We were all strapped in using a race harness with a padlock (!) so it was all quite safe.
