If your Mac says it is waiting for other installations to complete even when none running, try the following on Terminal. Note that when using the "sudo" command you will need to provide an administrator password.
In Terminal... sudo rm /private/var/db/mds/system/mds.install.lock sudo killall -1 installd
Exit Terminal and re-run the required installer.
