Did some test photos of sky with EOS350D digital camera.
All using 75-300 f/4-5.6 telephoto on objects near equator.
Max time for no trailing...
8" 75mm f/5 iso 400
4" 300mm f/5.6 iso 800
Obvious trailing...
8" 300mm f/5.6 iso 1600
