(Up to OJB's Styles Page) Leaning Rock Pinot Noir 2001Tasted: | 14 Feb 2005 (age 4 years) | Name: | Leaning Rock (98) | Variety: | Pinot Noir (13) | Year: | 2001 | Producer: | Leaning Rock | Region: | Central Otago | Rating: | good- | Web Site: | http://leaningrock.co.nz | | The colour was light ruby red, with moderate legs. There was a strong spicy raspberry vanilla oak bouquet. The taste started with soft smooth tannins and raspberry fruit, there was a hint of light earthy mushroom, and a long dry finish. This wine had a medium body, and was moderately complex. |
Note 1 I am not really a wine expert (just an enthusiastic amateur), so please don't take my recommendations as anything more than a rough guide to these wines. I can take no responsibility if you buy a lot, on my recommendation, and then regret it! Note 2 You may not agree with my evaluation of these wines as a lot of this is quite subjective. I tend to put a lot of emphasis on complexity and intense characteristic flavours and bouquet, so if you disagree you might just have different priorities. ![[Up]](../XuShared/Up2B.jpeg)
