(Up to OJB's Styles Page) Leaning Rock Pinot Noir 2002Tasted: | 06 Nov 2005 (age 3 years) | Name: | Leaning Rock (164) | Variety: | Pinot Noir (13) | Year: | 2002 | Producer: | Leaning Rock | Region: | Central Otago | Rating: | good | Web Site: | http://leaningrock.co.nz | | The colour was medium deep red, and there were quite heavy legs. The bouquet was intense sharp oak, plum and berry fruit, and chocolate. The taste had a smooth soft wood start, strong berry fruit, and a light savoury finish, and it was quite dry. This wine was quite complex with intense fruit, and smooth wood balance. It won a silver medal at Bragato Competition in August 2003; and a gold medal at the Royal Easter Show, in March 2004. |
Note 1 I am not really a wine expert (just an enthusiastic amateur), so please don't take my recommendations as anything more than a rough guide to these wines. I can take no responsibility if you buy a lot, on my recommendation, and then regret it! Note 2 You may not agree with my evaluation of these wines as a lot of this is quite subjective. I tend to put a lot of emphasis on complexity and intense characteristic flavours and bouquet, so if you disagree you might just have different priorities. ![[Up]](../XuShared/Up2B.jpeg)
