(Up to OJB's Styles Page) Nevis Bluff Pinot Noir 2001Tasted: | 12 Jan 2003 (age 2 years) | Name: | Gibbston Nevis Bluff (159) | Variety: | Pinot Noir (13) | Year: | 2001 | Producer: | Nevis Bluff | Region: | Central Otago | Rating: | good | Web Site: | http://www.nevisbluff.co.nz | | The wine had a quite deep ruby red colour, with a pale pink edge. It showed an intense raspberry fruit, and light herb and earth bouquet. This wine had a dry earthy tannic oak start, and rich strong peppery cherry fruit. It had well integrated flavours, medium body, and was a dry smooth style. This was quite an impressive, moderately complex wine. |
Note 1 I am not really a wine expert (just an enthusiastic amateur), so please don't take my recommendations as anything more than a rough guide to these wines. I can take no responsibility if you buy a lot, on my recommendation, and then regret it! Note 2 You may not agree with my evaluation of these wines as a lot of this is quite subjective. I tend to put a lot of emphasis on complexity and intense characteristic flavours and bouquet, so if you disagree you might just have different priorities. ![[Up]](../XuShared/Up2B.jpeg)
